Lucian

I'm Lucian, I grew up in Florida and in July 2019 I accepted a job offer in Boston. As I was waiting to board my flight to Boston, it dawned on me that I was moving to a city where I knew nobody so I quickly Googled for things to do in Boston. The first link I clicked on was for a boat party on Meetup and from there I was hooked and attending many different events events across a variety of groups. After months of attending other hosts events, in October 2019 I hosted my first event, a daytrip to Salem, MA.

I've found that getting around socially in Boston relies on knowing people who know the city. Because of this, it can be a mess trying to find great social activities around Boston, whether it is finding your nightlife scene or finding a good place to have a casual picnic. A lot to do, but not much to guide you outside of the major historical locations and high end restaurants. That is why I help run these groups, so that folks new to Boston can find their way around, and maybe a few friends along the way!

Tal

Hi, my name is Tal. Tal is a Jewish name for “Morning Dew” by the way. I am a born and bred Bostonian. I work in Cyber-Security, but I also DJ weddings part-time! I also used to be a radio producer & a real estate agent, my resume is definitely more than 2 pages.

I graduated college in 2019. It was hard to hang out with my college friends as they all lived around 50 miles away from me, so I looked for things to do in the city. I found a meetup organization called “Hey Siri, How to make Friends After College”, I went to an event and then fell in love. I started to host events for the group, and then eventually became a co-organizer for the group. In 2021, I took full ownership of the Meetup group, and decided to expand our community to Facebook & Discord!

I believe in the saying “You Only Live Once”. That is what motivates me to host fun events as I want to do as much as I can while I’m in my 20’s and 30’s, and when I get older, I can look back and be happy that I didn’t just stay home most of my time. I think that everyone should have that mind set!

Events that I like to run are: Board Game Nights, Bar Socials, Rooftop Socials, Picnics, City Walks, and BBQ’s!

Thank you for being a part of our community and I hope to see you at our events!
